Inventors include Er. Arun K. Varghese; Dr. Sajan T John; Christy Mary Jacob; Abhishek Madhav S; Alen Thomas Jemon; Abhay Santhosh; Denil Muthalupadiyil Jomon; and Saintgits College Of Engineering.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: To study the detailed ergonomic and biomechanical analysis of powered two-wheeler riders, it requires a more precise and accurate pose estimation. For this, a stable test rig is important. The test rig can address rider configurations of all two-wheelers in the market as well as able to sit and take measurements of all sizes of humans. The measurements can be done by either using image-based or traditional tool-based methods. Use of wooden sheets with proper fixtures is more suitable for the anthropometric measurements. Since using wood sheets, it is easy to incorporate reference marks and place all key points accurately. This rig simulates the real time rider pose and can capture poses by using computer vision techniques like OpenCV or MediaPipe. Besides these using sensors like load cells, EMG, EEG, heart rate sensors, pressure sensors and eye tacking devices, researchers can measure musculoskeletal loads, cognitive loads and ergonomic evaluations. By doing this, very safe and comfortable two wheelers can be developed.
