Abstract: Portable Solar-Powered Heavy Metal Removal System for Wastewater Treatment This invention describes a portable, solar-powered device designed for heavy metal removal from wastewater and industrial effluents. The system features a compact, mobile unit equipped with integrated solar panels to ensure sustainable operation. It utilizes a natural sorbent formulation derived from Neem Leaves, Sugarcane Bagasse, and Tea Wastes, offering cost-effective and eco-friendly adsorption. The device integrates Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis for sorbent characterization. It employs fixed bed column experiments and mathematical models (Thomas and Yoon-Nelson models) for optimized performance. The modular sorbent chamber allows easy replacement, ensuring adaptability for various contaminants. Its portability facilitates deployment in remote areas or disaster zones. By leveraging renewable energy and sustainable sorbents, this system provides a low-cost, scalable, and efficient solution to the growing challenge of heavy metal contamination in wastewater.
