Abstract: ABSTRACT PORTABLE SINGLE DROP MULTIZONE CHROMOGENIC KIT FOR ON-SITE DETECTION OF MERCURY, LEAD, COPPER, AND IRON The present invention relates to a Portable Single-Drop Multizone Chromogenic Kit, herein referred to as a toxic wheel, designed for the rapid preliminary screening and metal-specific confirmation of heavy metals, including mercury, lead, copper, and iron, in biological, environmental, and industrial samples. The platform consists of a circular micro-analytical device comprising multiple radially arranged reaction zones, each pre-loaded with selective colorimetric reagents. A single drop of the test sample is applied at the central inlet, from where it is distributed uniformly across all reaction zones via capillary-driven flow, enabling simultaneous multi-metal detection. Distinct colorimetric responses are produced for each metal ion, allowing simultaneous identification even in mixed samples. The device further incorporates integrated reference color scales for semi-quantitative estimation. The platform demonstrates high sensitivity, low limit of detection (LOD), and reproducibility, validated through experimental studies. The invention provides a rapid, cost-effective, portable, and eco-friendly solution for on-site toxicological screening, eliminating the need for sophisticated instrumentation.
