MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073570 A) filed by Bhaikaka University on June 13, 2026, for Portable Pelvic Alignment Device With Integrated Goniometer For Measuring Pelvic Tilt And Obliquity.

Inventor includes Dr. Mayur Umeshbhai Chudasama.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanical apparatus configured for accurate clinical measurement of pelvic tilt and pelvic obliquity using anatomical reference alignment. The apparatus comprises a horizontal reference bar, pelvic rest arms positioned to engage anatomical landmarks including anterior superior iliac spine and posterior superior iliac spine, and a centrally positioned angular measuring unit. A bubble level unit is integrated to maintain horizontal alignment during measurement. A goniometric scale is positioned to provide direct angular values corresponding to pelvic tilt and obliquity. The pelvic rest arms are supported through adjustable joints and suspension elements to ensure stable positioning across different anatomical dimensions. The structure enables reproducible alignment and eliminates subjective estimation during assessment. The apparatus provides direct, real-time angular measurement without dependence on radiographic techniques, thereby improving clinical accuracy and efficiency in evaluation of pelvic alignment conditions.
