Abstract: A portable blood group detection device for determining ABO and RhD blood groups comprises a microfluidic chip with three parallel microchannels configured to uniformly distribute a blood sample to three reaction wells pre-coated with Anti-A, Anti-B, and Anti-D antisera respectively. The device includes an optical detection module with three LED-LDR sensor pairs, wherein each LED illuminates a reaction well and each LDR detects light transmitted through the well. When hemagglutination occurs due to antigen-antibody binding, increased turbidity reduces light transmission to the LDR, causing measurable resistance increase. A signal conditioning circuit comprising voltage divider circuits converts resistance variations into voltage signals for microcontroller processing. The microcontroller sequentially activates LEDs, acquires voltage signals, compares against predefined threshold values corresponding to agglutination and non-agglutination states, and generates blood group results. The device determines blood group from whole blood samples of 10 microliters or less within 5 minutes without requiring centrifugation, housed in a portable battery-operable housing weighing less than 1 kilogram with power consumption less than 5 watts.
