Abstract: A portable force measurement device (100) for a clutch actuator in a vehicle comprises a first housing member (102) having an engaging element (104) on a rear portion, configured to be removably engaged with the clutch actuator. A load cell assembly (108) positioned in the first housing member (102) comprises a metallic structural element with strain gauges on a front portion, configured to receive a clutch actuation force to push the first housing member (102) along with the clutch actuator. A second housing member (106) comprises an electronic module in communication with the load cell assembly (108), comprising a processing unit configured to receive force input on the metallic structural element, receive vehicle parameters and driver characteristics, determine current and threshold values of clutch actuation force, compare these values, and determine an operational state of a clutch unit.
