Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable Internet of Things (IoT)-based emergency communication system configured to provide rapid emergency assistance using dual communication technologies. The system comprises a transmitter unit having a microcontroller, GPS module, GSM module, LoRa communication module, motion sensor, emergency trigger button, and power management unit, and a receiver unit also having a microcontroller, LoRa receiver, and audible alert mechanism. On activation of the emergency button or detection of any abnormal movement, the microcontroller obtains real-time geographical coordinates through GPS , simultaneously transmits an emergency alert containing location information via GSM and an encoded distress signal via LoRa. The receiver processes the distress signal and generates an audible alert for rapid response. The integration of GSM and LoRa provides communication redundancy, enabling reliable operation in areas with limited or unavailable internet connectivity. The system is compact, portable, standalone, energy-efficient, and suitable for diverse emergency and personal safety applications
