The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The current invention presents a solar-assisted adaptive hybrid thermal management system for a portable insulated tumbler aimed at keeping hot beverages at the desired temperature. This tumbler features a vacuum-insulated double-walled body that integrates a modular inner liner with pockets for phase change material (PCM), specifically designed for optimal temperature retention of beverages (around 50 65°C). A flexible thin-film solar panel, incorporated into the outer sleeve or lid, trickle-charges a rechargeable battery that powers a low-energy heating element. An adaptive controller, connected to temperature and tilt/orientation sensors, enhances solar energy usage and sustains the preferred temperature range during prolonged use, travel, or power interruptions. This system facilitates extended passive and active thermal management, promotes energy efficiency, and enhances usability in the diverse climatic conditions of India. Additionally, the invention includes support for tilt-based solar optimization and usage patterns.
