Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable groundwater quality analyser for integrated assessment of groundwater quality using image-based nitrate estimation and multi-parameter sensing. The analyser comprises an ESP32-CAM microcontroller with an integrated camera module, a reagent strip holder, a turbidity sensor, a pH sensor, a temperature sensor, an OLED display module, a microSD card module, a power management and charging module, and a rechargeable battery housed within a portable enclosure. The ESP32-CAM microcontroller captures an image of a reagent strip exposed to a groundwater sample and estimates nitrate concentration using stored calibration data. Simultaneously, turbidity, pH and temperature measurements are acquired and integrated with the estimated nitrate concentration to generate an Integrated Groundwater Quality Index (IGQI) representing the overall groundwater quality. The generated 1GQI and the corresponding water quality parameters are displayed in real time on the OLED display module and stored in the microSD card module for future retrieval and monitoring. The analyser performs complete groundwater quality assessment locally without requiring continuous internet connectivity or cloud-based processing, thereby enabling rapid, portable and on-site groundwater quality analysis.
