MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106160 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Portable Ai-Embedded Brain Tumor Screening And Early Diagnosis Device.

Inventors include Alphonsa J; Drv. Sheeja Kumari; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a portable, hardware-integrated medical screening device embedded with a dedicated artificial intelligence processor capable of detecting brain tumor abnormalities from MRI, CT, and wearable sensor data. The device supports DICOM-compatible data acquisition through wired or wireless interfaces and automatically performs preprocessing operations such as skull stripping, intensity normalization, image enhancement, and noise reduction to ensure consistent diagnostic quality. A hybrid CNN—Transformer inference engine deployed on the embedded GPU/TPU module executes real-time tumor screening, preliminary classification, and anomaly localization without reliance on external computing systems. A built-in touchscreen enables interactive visualization of detection results, severity scores, and heatmap-based explainability outputs, while encrypted cloud connectivity provides remote medical consultation and seamless integration with hospital information systems. The compact, battery-operated design allows the device to function in hospitals, ambulances, rural clinics, community health camps, and telemedicine settings, enabling fast, accessible, and accurate early-stage brain tumor screening and significantly reducing diagnostic delays in underserved regions
