Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a port optimized lubrication system for a reciprocating type gas compressor. The system comprises a cylinder unit, a liner, a piston unit and a lubricant delivery unit. The cylinder unit comprises a piston cylinder and a primary lubrication port aligned with a bottom dead centre (BDC) of the cylinder the top of the rider ring when the piston is at BDC. The liner is housed in the cylinder and comprises a secondary lubrication port. The secondary lubrication port is aligned with a centre of the primary lubrication port and is connected through a passageway. The piston unit comprises a piston ring and a rider ring mounted on a piston rod in a plurality of grooves. The lubricant delivery unit comprises a lubricant pressurization chamber. The lubricant pressurization chamber is connected to the primary lubrication port through a valve.
