MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541016034 A) filed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited on February 24, 2025, for Polymer Compositions Having Recycling Additive And Method For Preparation Thereof.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a recycling additive comprising: 35 to 45 wt. % of a binder; 10 to 20 wt. % of a primary antioxidant; 15 to 30 wt. % of a secondary antioxidant; 5 to 10 wt. % of an acid scavenger; and 1 to 2 wt. % of UV stablilizer. The present disclosure also relates to a polymer composition comprising: 99 to 99.9 wt. % of a post-consumer recycled (PCR) high-density poly ethylene (HDPE); and 0.1 to 1 wt. % of a recycling additive. The present disclosure also provide a method of preparation of the polymer composition. The incorporation of a recycling additive plays a pivotal role in improving the thermal, mechanical, and reprocessing characteristics of the PCR HDPE.
