Abstract: Modern agriculture requires continuous crop monitoring, early pest detection, timely intervention, and efficient resource utilization to achieve optimum productivity and sustainability. To address these challenges, this work proposes a Pole Structured Smart Monitoring System (POSSM), in which a centralized Master Pole performs environmental monitoring, visual crop surveillance, Internet of Things (IoT) based communication, and intelligent threshold-based decision-making. The system architecture is built around an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with sensors for temperature, humidity, soil moisture, gas, and light intensity, along with a camera module for the early detection of pests and crop diseases. The collected sensor data are processed locally and transmitted via Wi-Fi to the Blynk application, enabling real-time monitoring and instant alerts through an LCD display, buzzer, and mobile notifications. Simulation and hardware experiments validate the system's capability to provide intelligent sensing, communication, and alert mechanisms under varying field conditions. Powered by a hybrid solar-based energy source for both sensors and the camera module, the modular design offers a cost-effective precision agriculture solution that minimizes excessive fertilizer and pesticide usage while improving crop health and yield.
