Abstract: A point cloud encompassed in a space, points of the point cloud having attributes is compressed and encode. The space is first divided in blocks. For each block comprising at least one point, the geometry of the points is compressed and a transfer function associating coordinates within the block with an attribute value is determined according to the attribute values of the at least one point. Then, compressed geometries and transfer functions are encoded in a data stream.
