MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064639 A) filed by Chinna Reddy Sudhir Reddy on May 22, 2026, for Pneumatically-Sealed Mobile Dry Compartment System For In-Situ Marine Hull Coating.
Inventor includes Chinna Reddy Sudhir Reddy.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile coating system (100) for in-situ coating of marine vessel hull surfaces. The system comprises a compartment assembly (20) having a continuous seal member (22), pneumatic actuators (23), distribution members (24), magnetic elements (25), an evacuation pump (26), environmental conditioning means (32, 33) and coating nozzles (28). The pneumatic actuators (23) press the seal member (22) against the hull while the magnetic elements (25) maintain attachment and the pump (26) removes water to establish a dry working environment. In a cold-climate embodiment, an outer thermal chamber (40) formed from a non-heat-transfer material (41) surrounds the compartment assembly (20) and receives heated air (42) at approximately 45°C during painting and curing, thereby reducing influence of external cold temperature on the hull steel plate. The system is usable for submerged and above-waterline coating operations and provides controlled conditions for surface preparation, coating and curing.
