MUMBAI, India, June 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421094159 A) filed by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited on November 30, 2024, for Pneumatic Damper System For Absorbing Vibrations.
Inventors include Har Govind Singh; Abhilash Guha; and Aditya Kant Choudhary.
The application for the patent was published on June 05, 2026, under issue no. 23/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT PNEUMATIC DAMPER SYSTEM FOR ABSORBING VIBRATIONS A pneumatic damper system (100) for absorbing vibrations of powertrain of vehicle is disclosed. The pneumatic damper system (100) includes a pneumatic spring (116), a coupler (118) and a processor (110). The coupler (118) includes a solid portion (308) mechanically couplable to the powertrain. Further, the coupler (118) includes a cup portion (310) that receives a solid portion (308) and mechanically couple to the solid portion (308) through a first end (312). The cup portion (310) further mechanically couples to the pneumatic spring (116) via a second end (314). The processor (110) determines a desired damping coefficient and stiffness coefficient of the pneumatic spring (116) based on parameters associated with the vehicle. The processor (110) controls supply of air to and from the pneumatic supply (114) via the inlet (122) to vary air pressure inside the pneumatic spring (116) based on the desired damping coefficient and stiffness coefficient.
