MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441067357 A) filed by Jain Deemed-To-Be University on December 05, 2024, for Plant Hormone-Based Water Retaining Seed Ball Composition And Method Of Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. Giresha A S; and Dr. Apurva Kumar R Joshi.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A present invention relates to a plant hormone-based water retaining seed ball composition comprising, i) Seeds in range of 1-5 seeds, ii) Gibberellins in range of 1-250 ppm, iii) clay mixture in range of 1-5 gm, iv) organic matter in range of 1-10 gm, v) water retaining mixture in range of 1-5 gm. A method of preparation of the seed ball comprises of: adding 5-10 ml water to clay mixture to make a clay paste that is shaped into a clay ball followed by creating a cavity in the clay ball, filling the cavity with seeds and adding the water retaining mixture above and below seeds, covering the cavity by clay paste to obtain a seed ball that is dried at 40-50ºC and stored in a dry area.
