Abstract: The present invention discloses an eco-friendly green synthesis method for the preparation of silver nanoparticles using aqueous leaf extract of Azadirachta indica (Neem) and their application as broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents. The neem leaf extract serves as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent, enabling the formation of stable silver nanoparticles under mild reaction conditions without hazardous chemicals. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibited strong dose-dependent antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans. At 100 micrograms per millilitre, the highest zone of inhibition of 24.1 plus or minus 0.4 millimetres was recorded against Escherichia coli, which was comparable to Ciprofloxacin. The nanoparticles maintained colloidal stability over ninety days. The invention provides a cost-effective, reproducible, and scalable approach for producing antimicrobial nanoparticles as alternatives to conventional antibiotics for combating antimicrobial resistance.
