Abstract: ABSTRACT PLANT-BASED MUCOADHESIVE PATCHES FOR MOUTH ULCERS The present disclosure relates to plant-based mucoadhesive patches for mouth ulcers, and method of preparation thereof. More particularly, the mucoadhesive patch composition comprises saffron extract, pomegranate extract, honey, polymers and excipients including plasticizer, preservative, humectant, flavouring agent, natural colouring agent, and pH stabilizing agent. Furthermore, the polymers comprise of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HMPC), sodium alginate and chitosan. The said mucoadhesive patch can be implemented in aphthous ulcers to promote effective healing of oral mucosal lining by leveraging anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties inherent in the plant-based ingredients.
