Abstract: An electro-optic display comprising: an electrophoretic film (104); a first electrode (106); a second electrode (108); a piezoelectric material (102) positioned between the electrophoretic film (104) and the second electrode (108), wherein the piezoelectric material (102) overlaps with only a portion of the electrophoretic film (104), while the second electrode (108) overlaps with all the piezoelectric material (102) and the rest of the electrophoretic film (104) that does not overlap with the piezoelectric material (102), wherein the portion of the electrophoretic film (104) that overlaps with the piezoelectric material (102) has a first electrical resistance and the rest of the electrophoretic film (104) that does not overlap with the piezoelectric material (102) has a second electrical resistance, and wherein the first electrode (106) is positioned next to the electrophoretic film (104) and opposite from the piezoelectric material (102) and the second electrode (108); and an adhesive layer positioned between the piezoelectric material (102) and the electrophoretic film (104), wherein the adhesive layer has a resistivity between 108 Ohm*cm and 1012 Ohm*cm.
