MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631110525 A) filed by Brainware University on September 15, 2026, for Phytopulse: A Joystick-Based Iot Sensor System For Real-Time Radial Growth Monitoring Of Fruits And Plants.

Inventor includes Dr. Anirbit Sengupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: An Internet of Things enabled system monitors radial growth of a fruit, stem, branch or trunk using a two axis joystick sensor (101) having an elongated shaft (203) mechanically coupled to the plant part. Growth induced shaft displacement produces an analogue signal that is digitised by a low power microcontroller (104), time associated by a real time clock (103), and stored in non volatile memory. The system operates with a shorter measurement interval and a longer data transmission interval and supports Sleep Mode and Usual Mode operation. Stored measurements are communicated through a communication module (105) to remote server storage (110) and are retrievable at a user terminal (112). A weatherproof housing (201) protects the sensing electronics while permitting the shaft to remain operatively coupled. FIG. 100 is representative.
