The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention provides a thermoreversible endodontic gel comprising approximately 2% phytic acid and approximately 18% Poloxamer 407, together with a buffering system, aqueous vehicle and pH-adjusting agent, the formulation having a pH of approximately 5.5. Phytic acid provides calcium-chelating activity, while Poloxamer 407 provides temperature-responsive viscosity and gel formation for localized delivery within a pulp chamber. The formulation may be maintained in a relatively fluid state under refrigerated conditions and undergoes increased viscosity and/or sol-to-gel transition upon warming. Under the tested in-vitro conditions following 24 hours of treatment, pulp stones exhibited 26.80 ± 0.956% weight loss compared with 8.14 ± 0.359% for dentin (p 0.001), and calcium-ion release of 43.17 ± 2.732 ppm compared with 11.58 ± 0.614 ppm from dentin (p 0.001). EDS and SEM findings further demonstrated mineral alteration and surface changes. The formulation provides a chemical adjunct for preferential treatment of pulp stones and subsequent mechanical removal.
