MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072290 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 10, 2026, for Physics-Informed Thermotropic Liquid Crystal Thermal Field Decoding Apparatus With Edge Learning And Digital Twin Calibration.
Inventor includes Muchenedi Hari Kishor.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a physics-informed thermotropic liquid crystal thermal field decoding apparatus integrating thermo-optical modelling, digital twin simulation, edge learning inference, calibration compensation, anomaly detection, and thermo-mechanical perturbation correction. Synthetic thermo-optical datasets are generated using nonlinear wavelength-temperature modelling and converted into optical response patterns. Chromatic features extracted from thermo-optical images are processed using edge-deployable nonlinear learning inference for quantitative thermal reconstruction. The invention further incorporates polynomial calibration, residual drift correction, stress-induced wavelength perturbation compensation, and optical degradation robustness analysis for accurate thermal decoding under noisy and perturbed imaging conditions. The apparatus enables edge-deployable quantitative thermal mapping with reduced thermal estimation error and enhanced thermo- optical reconstruction reliability suitable for industrial monitoring, structural sensing, aerospace inspection, and electronic thermal diagnostics.
