Abstract: ABSTRACT PHYSICALLY-CONSTRAINED DYNAMIC GRAPH SYNTHESIS AND VIABILITY-GRADIENT ROUTING FOR DELAY-TOLERANT COMMUNICATION NETWORKS A computer-implemented method of routing packets in a delay-tolerant communication network comprising a plurality of mobile nodes (100, 101, 102, 103, 104) is provided. The method comprises obtaining telemetry data including position data from a position sensor input (201), mobility data from a mobility sensor input (202), and energy-state data from an energy sensor input (203). For each candidate node pair, an edge-existence value (530) is computed from a geometric visibility term (500), a predicted mobility term (501), and an energy-feasibility term (503). A communication graph (412) is constructed by inserting an edge when the edge-existence value exceeds a physical-validity threshold (540) and discarding the candidate node pair otherwise. For each buffered packet, a viability state vector (421) is maintained and updated using a decay term (611) and a contact-dependent replenishment term (621). A viability-preservation value (432) is computed for each candidate action, and an action maximizing the viability-preservation value is selected and executed to route a packet via the edge.
