MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101300 A) filed by Dr. Anindita De; Marjita Chakma; Dr. Sonam Patel; and Shivam Singh on August 21, 2026, for Phy?osomal Nanocarrier Of Polyherbal Antidiabetic Composition For Sustained Release And Improved Oral Bioavailability.

Inventors include Dr. Anindita De; Marjita Chakma; Dr. Sonam Patel; and Shivam Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a phytosomal nanocarrier comprising a standardized polyherbal antidiabetic composition for sustained release and improved oral bioavailability. The composition comprises extracts of medicinal plants having complementary antidiabetic, insulin-sensitizing, antioxidant and metabolic activities, preferably including Gymnema sylvestre, Momordica charantia, Trigonella foenum-graecum and Syzygium cumini. The standardized herbal extracts are associated with one or more phospholipids, preferably phosphatidylcholine, and converted into nanosized phytosomal particles. The nanocarrier may further comprise stabilizers, surfactants, cryoprotectants and release-modifying polymers. The resulting system is configured to improve dispersion, protect phytoconstituents from gastrointestinal degradation, enhance intestinal absorption, provide sustained release and increase oral bioavailability. The phytosomal nanocarrier may be formulated as a tablet, capsule, granule, pellet or other oral dosage form and is useful for management of hyperglycemia, insulin resistance and metabolic abnormalities associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
