MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617073102 A) filed by Danyang Huichuang Medical Equipment on June 12, 2026, for Phototherapy Device For Inhibiting Or Preventing Alzheimer'S Disease.

Inventors include Wang, Daifa Number; Guo, Genmiao; and Zhao, Xiaojing.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: Provided in the present application is a phototherapy device for inhibiting or preventing Alzheimer's disease (AD). The phototherapy device comprises a supporting structure and an array of near-infrared irradiation units. A supporting mechanism forms an accommodating space for a subject's head and supports the array of the near-infrared irradiation units. The array of the near-infrared irradiation units is configured to: emit near-infrared light into the accommodating space, and form, when the subject's head is in place, an irradiation spatial range covering at least the anterior superior part, vertex, and left and right lateral parts of the cranium, wherein the time-averaged total irradiation power applied to the cranial region of the subject’s head reaches 27.5 W or more, 31 W or more, 40 W or more, 60 W or more, or 70 W or more, and the spatiotemporal-averaged optical power density irradiated to each region does not exceed 230 mW/cm2. The phototherapy device realizes optimized therapeutic effects of an AD patient from MCI to dementia stages during a treatment course, without depending on nasal and ocular irradiation, and can not only effectively maintain but also continuously enhance the therapeutic effects when phototherapy is interrupted.
