MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541015706 A) filed by Jeyavishnu K on February 23, 2025, for Photometer Based Rolling Tip Tube For Microbial Sampling And Quantification.
Inventors include Jeyavishnu K; and Mr. Manish Malhan.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Photometer based rolling tip tube for Microbial sampling and Quantification A embodiment for microbial quantification in various samples is provided, comprising a sterilized roller tip [101] made of flexible- semi-flexible or non-flexible polymer with specialized coatings for sampling microorganisms from surfaces like containers, pipelines, storage tanks, or liquids. The roller tip [101] transfers microorganisms into a glass tube containing sterilized media [102] for microbial analysis. The sterilized roller tip [101] is pre-sterilized at the manufacturing facility, packed with a tight cap [108], and forwarded to users for immediate use without further sterilization. The sterilized media [102] supports microbial growth under sample-specific conditions, preserving or culturing microorganisms. Microbial quantification is done through photometric absorbance measurements, with the absorbance readings of sterilized media [102] indicating microbial density. A light source [103] provides a beam of light through the sterilized media [102], and a detector [104] measures light absorption, correlating with microbial concentration. Results are analyzed and can be accessed via an IoT interface for real- time monitoring.
