The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a compact photoluminescent photovoltaic cube (PLPV-Cube) designed to enhance solar energy harvesting by integrating spectral conversion, bifacial light absorption, and durable encapsulation into a single system. The device comprises four bifacial silicon PERC solar cells embedded within a UV-curable transparent resin matrix doped with Upconversion nanoparticles capable of converting near-infrared (NIR) radiation into visible light. The cube, with uniform dimensions of 3.5 × 3.5 ×3.5 cm3, is fabricated through a multi-stage molding and UV-curing process, ensuring structural integrity and environmental protection. During operation, the Upconversion material absorbs NIR photons and emits visible light, which is then captured by the embedded solar cells, enhancing energy conversion, particularly in the presence of NIR. The device's geometry promotes internal light reflection, increasing photon interaction with solar cells. This invention offers a scalable, robust, and efficient solution for compact energy systems. This system gives a higher power output of almost 48% than commercial flat solar cells. Figure-1
