MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641071486 A) filed by Rv College Of Engineering on June 09, 2026, for Photo-To-Sketch And Sketch-To-Photo Transformation System And Method Using Cycle Gan.

Inventors include B. G. Sudarshan; Mohana; Nayana Jagadish Raikar; Prasasthi Sanjana Chekuri; and Prathiksha R.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Title: Photo-to-Sketch and Sketch-to-Photo Transformation System and Method using Cycle GAN 5 A photo-to-sketch and sketch-to-photo transformation system (100) and method (400) using Cycle Generative Adversarial Network (Cycle GAN) is disclosed. The system (100) includes memory (102), processor (104), an encoder (106), decoder (108), and controller (110). The encoder (106) is configured to receive bicubic frames of an input photograph. The at least one processor (104) 10 pre- processes the bicubic frames to derive structural priors based on Sobel (x, y), Laplacian and Canny edged operators. The decoder (108) is configured to receive and transfer derive structural priors from the encoder to a controller. The controller (110) is configured to generate the photo-to-sketch and the sketch-to-photo outputs from the received structural priors using a two ResNet-9 generators and two PatchGAN discriminators. The controller (110) is further configured to refine 15 the photo-to- sketch and the sketch-to-photo outputs through a seven-stage post-processing pipeline to remove noise, improve edges and textures, enhancing contrast, and tonal range.
