MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611102545 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 25, 2026, for Pharmaceutical Composition For Respiratory Disorders.
Inventors include Ruchika Goyal; and Krishna Mittal.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for the management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with reduced sensory side effects. The composition comprises a synthetic bronchodilator, a synthetic anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, and an herbal demulcent matrix forming an outer coating layer. The composition forms micro- encapsulated hybrid particles having a mass median aerodynamic diameter of 1 µm to 5 µm. The herbal matrix comprises Glycyrrhiza glabra, Althaea officinalis, and Adhatoda vasica extracts and include muco-adhesive polymers. A method (100) comprises dissolving synthetic actives in ethanol to form a first phase solution, preparing a second phase solution of herbal extracts in water, homogenizing at 10,000 to 20,000 RPM, adding polysorbate 80, and spray drying at 100 to 150°C inlet and 50 to 80°C outlet temperatures. The second phase solution is maintained at pH 5.5 to 6.5 and spray drying is performed using a nozzle of 0.5 to 1.0 mm diameter and 1 to 3 bar pressure to obtain spherical particles.
