Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition is disclosed. The composition comprises nanoparticles of a biodegradable polymer encapsulating an mTOR inhibitor and a vector- polymer complex. A process for preparation of the pharmaceutical composition is also disclosed. The composition exhibits sustained release characteristics, high encapsulation efficiency, and biocompatibility. The composition further demonstrates restoration of neuronal health markers and improvement in cognitive function in experimental models. The composition is suitable for therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease.
