MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099307 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Ph-Triggered Multiparticulate Granules For Intestinal And Colonic Drug Delivery.

Inventors include Kapil Bhardwaj; Raman Yadav; Kumari Sonu; Nidhi Srivastav; and Sameer Rastogi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pH-triggered multiparticulate oral drug-delivery system. The system comprises a plurality of drug-containing pharmaceutical granules individually coated with a pH-sensitive polymer selected from cellulose acetate phthalate, Eudragit L, Eudragit S, or a combination thereof. The coating restrains premature drug release in the acidic gastric environment and permits controlled release when the granules encounter a selected intestinal or colonic pH. The coating may protect acid-labile drugs and reduce gastric exposure associated with gastrointestinal discomfort. The multiparticulate construction permits distribution of multiple coated granules during gastrointestinal transit and supports repeatability of drug release. The system is industrially applicable to pharmaceutical formulation and manufacture of oral products intended for intestinal or colonic delivery.
