Abstract: This invention provides an eco-friendly method for controlling pod fly infestations, specifically Melanagromyzaobtusa, in pigeon pea crops using Neem Seed Kernel Extract (NSKE). The extract is derived from the seeds of Azadirachta indica and contains bioactive compounds such as azadirachtin, which disrupt pest feeding, growth, and reproduction. The NSKE is formulated into a foliar spray, applied to the leaves and pods of pigeon pea plants at regular intervals to reduce pod damage and increase crop yield. The use of NSKE offers a natural alternative to synthetic pesticides, reducing environmental impact, pesticide residues, and costs for farmers.
