MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113587 A) filed by Woxsen University on September 22, 2026, for Personalized Nucleic Acid Authentication Carrier, Preparation Method And Beverage Authentication System.

Inventors include Jose Luis De La Rosa Esteva; and Beauty Pandey.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a personalized nucleic acid authentication carrier, a method for preparing and using the carrier, and a system for introducing the carrier into a beverage bottle. The carrier comprises purified genomic nucleic acid obtained from a predetermined individual, a nucleic acid stabilizing composition, and an encapsulating matrix enclosing the nucleic acid and stabilizing composition. The encapsulating matrix preferably comprises calcium-cross-linked sodium alginate and may further comprise a protective coating. The carrier preserves the nucleic acid during prolonged storage in an alcoholic beverage while remaining substantially neutral to beverage characteristics. A beverage bottle is authenticated by recovering the carrier and genomic nucleic acid, analyzing genetic markers, and comparing the resulting genetic profile with a reference profile. The system provides controlled single-carrier dispensing, verification, insertion confirmation, bottle closure and electronic traceability, thereby enabling reliable beverage authentication and provenance verification.
