Abstract: The present invention relates to a perovskite-based morphing blended wing body aircraft system for aerodynamic optimization, is to enable adaptive aerodynamic optimization through variable wing sweep. The mechanism utilizes distributed Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) SMA actuators embedded within the composite wing structure to replace conventional hydraulic actuation systems, thereby reducing structural weight, system complexity, and maintenance requirements. The flexible perovskite solar cell arrays integrated over the aircraft surface generate renewable electrical energy to power the SMA actuators, enabling a self-sustaining morphing system. Upon electrical heating, the SMA elements undergo phase transformation and contract to vary the wing sweep angle between 0° and 35°, while controlled cooling restores the original wing configuration. A closed-loop control system continuously monitors actuator temperature, displacement, and structural response to ensure precise, synchronized wing movement. Mechanical locking mechanisms secure the selected wing geometry without continuous power consumption, resulting in improved aerodynamic efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, enhanced reliability, and sustainable aircraft operation.
