MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115706 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 28, 2026, for Perfusion-Resolved Requalification System For Reprocessed Hollow-Fibre Haemodialysers Using Paired Hydraulic-Conductance And Tracer-Transit Analysis.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: A perfusion-resolved requalification apparatus for reprocessed hollow-fibre haemodialysers is disclosed. The apparatus jointly acquires axial hydraulic conductance and perfused lumen volume from a single docked dialyser using a metered flow arrangement, differential pressure transducers, and conductivity-based tracer transit. Because the respective measurements exhibit different dependencies on lumen radius, an embedded controller performs closed-form inversion to separately determine patent-lumen count and mean lumen radius without imaging. The recovered geometry is used to determine effective membrane transfer area and normalize counter- current dialysance to derive an intrinsic membrane permeability. Pressurised fill volume may additionally be compared with perfused volume to identify non-recruited lumen space. The resulting parameters are evaluated against predetermined requalification criteria and coupled to a motorised three-way diverter valve, fail-closed germicide-fill interlock, and thermal marking head. The apparatus thereby automatically directs each dialyser for release, recleaning, or rejection while preventing unauthorized re-presentation of rejected devices.
