Abstract: A pencil sharpening device comprises of a U-shape hollow body 101 configured with a conduit 102 accessed by a user to position a pencil within the body 101, a capacitive touch sensor integrated within the conduit 102 is activated to detect contact of the pencil, a pair of motorized sliding units 103 to provide translation to a cuboidal hollow chamber 104 attached with the sliding units 103 towards the pencil, a motorized clipper 105 is installed on free end of the conduit 102 to grip the pencil end, a suction unit 107 integrated within the body 101 to generate a vacuum pressure, efficiently collecting the debris and dust a laser sensor integrated within the device to measure length of the pencil tip and monitor the sharpening process, a pressure sensor integrated within the cutting unit 106 to detect optimal cutting pressure applied during sharpening.
