Abstract: The present invention discloses a pediatric anti-malarial pharmaceutical formulation comprising artemether (ARM) and lumefantrine (LF), wherein the bitter taste of the active pharmaceutical ingredients is masked using food-grade maltodextrin (MLD) through formation of a ternary complex with sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). The formulation is developed as an oral dispersible mini tablet (ODMT) comprising Ludiflash® (37% w/w), sodium starch glycolate (5% w/w), Avicel PH101 (20% w/w), ARM-LF-MLD complex (37% w/w), and Lubripharm (1% w/w). The invention further discloses a method for preparation involving solution-based complexation followed by drying and direct compression. The formulation provides improved organoleptic properties, rapid disintegration, and more than 80% drug release within 10 minutes, thereby enhancing pediatric compliance without affecting therapeutic efficacy.
