Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-locking anatomical matrix band system, designated as PAMS, for use during dental restorative procedures. The invention is intended to overcome the limitations associated with conventional matrix systems, including the requirement for external retainers, time-consuming adaptation procedures, inadequate proximal contour formation, and difficulties encountered during restorative treatment in patients with limited cooperation. PAM comprises a preformed circumferential matrix band available in standardized sizes corresponding to commonly used preformed dental band sizes ranging from 29 to 38, thereby enabling familiar size selection and clinical adaptation. The system incorporates an integrated self-locking mechanism that allows secure placement around the tooth without the need for separate matrix retainers or additional stabilizing components. The locking mechanism permits adjustable engagement of the band, facilitating rapid placement, stable retention, and easy removal following completion of the restorative procedure. The matrix band body is anatomically contoured and incorporates cervical adaptation together with mesial and distal curvature that more closely approximates the natural morphology of teeth. These anatomical features promote improved adaptation to tooth structure, facilitate the development of physiologic proximal contours, and assist in achieving appropriate restoration form. The design further minimizes the need for extensive chairside contouring and adjustment following placement of restorative materials. The invention is particularly advantageous in pediatric restorative dentistry, where reduced treatment duration and simplified clinical procedures are essential. However, the system may also be utilized in permanent dentition and other restorative applications requiring matrix-assisted restoration. By combining anatomical contouring with an integrated self- locking mechanism, PAMSTm provides a retainer-free matrix system that enhances clinical efficiency, improves restoration contour and adaptation, and simplifies restorative procedures across a wide range of dental applications.
