Abstract: Abstract Pedestrian Safety and Traffic Control for Crosswalk Optimisation, The loT and Machine Learning solution is intended to enhance pedestrian safety and traffic management in metropolitan settings. Increasing traffic congestion and road accidents near crosswalks necessitate the use of sophisticated and automated traffic control systems. The suggested system employs loT sensors such as ultrasonic, IR, and PIR motion, sound, and gas sensors to monitor vehicle movement, pedestrian presence, ambient conditions, and traffic activities in real time. The Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller processes the gathered data, which is then transferred over the SIM800L GSM communication module for remote monitoring and alarm creation. Machine learning algorithms use historical and real-time traffic data to anticipate traffic situations and optimise traffic signal timing automatically. The technology serves to prevent pedestrian accidents, road congestion, and increase overall transportation efficiency. The suggested system contributes to the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable smart city transportation infrastructure by combining smart sensing, wireless communication, and intelligent traffic management.
