Abstract: PAVEMENT BLOCKS MADE WITH WASTE SLURRY PRODUCED DURING THE MANUFACTURE OF M-SAND ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to ·the development of eco-efl~cient, high-strength pavement biocks utilizing M-Sand slurry, a by-product of mnnui~1Clured sand production. as a sustainable construction material. The pavement blocks are formulated using 01·dincli"Y Portland Cement (OPC), Manuh1ctured Sand (M-Sand), M-Sand slurry, coarse aggregates (G- 14mm). water, and a superplasticizer, maintaining a water-cement ratio of 0.40-0.45 lo1· optimum worka b iIi ty and strength. The innovation crfccti vc I y transforms f.1-Sa nd slurry, typically considered waste, into a micro-lillcr that enhances particle packing density and matrix cohesion. Experimental trials established that slurry replacement beyond 25% reduces compressive strength below M40 grade limits, while optimized incorporation at I 0-20% yields superior pe1·tormance. Pavement blocks with 15% slurry replacement achieved ~1n average compressive strength of 49.0 MPa, exceeding conventional M40 blocks (51.46 MPa) and market standards (41.4 MPa). Durability tests conlinned abrasion resistance of 0.23 mm thickness loss (below the IRC:SP:63-20 18 limit of 2.0 mm) and water absorption of 2.69 %, within IS 15658:2006 specifications. Microstructural analyses revealed the transformation of carbon in s!utTy into calcium carbonate (CaC03) through carbonation reactions, improving density and thermal stability. The blocks exhibited surface temperature equilibrium between 51-53 oc under hot-cold chamber testing, demonstrating strong thermal inntia. The invention thus provides a cost-effective, durable, and environmentally responsible solution fm pavement block production, reducing natural sand dependency and promoting circular utilization of quany by-products. Key 'Words: M-Sand slurry; eco-ti-iendly pavement blocks, particle packing density
