Abstract: An injectable dual-component hydrogel (100) comprises a hyaluronic-acid precursor (110), polydopamine-coated magnesium peroxide particles (120), an acid- accelerated crosslinking system (130), matrix-metalloproteinase-cleavable links (140), and a peroxide-converting catalyst. Mixing through a dual-syringe applicator (200) causes in situ gelation within a periodontal pocket and catechol-mediated adhesion to dentin, cementum and collagen. The polydopamine shell controls water ingress, while the catalyst limits reactive-peroxide accumulation and generates an early oxygen phase. Magnesium ions are retained by the polymer network and released thereafter, followed by controlled scaffold remodeling. The hydrogel is configured to support biofilm disruption, hypoxia reduction, macrophage phenotype modulation, endogenous periodontal-ligament stem-cell recruitment, angiogenesis, collagen organization, cementogenesis, periodontal-ligament formation and alveolar- bone regeneration. Optional radiopaque, color-indicating, self-healing, thermoresponsive, swelling, near-infrared-responsive and therapeutic-payload embodiments are provided.
