Abstract: ABSTRACT PASSIVE RF METAMATERIAL ARRAY AND MULTI-MODAL DISAMBIGUATION PIPELINE FOR STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING A structural health monitoring system includes a structural member surface (110) and a sensor array assembly (120) affixed thereto. The sensor array assembly (120) comprises a passive, chipless radio frequency metamaterial array having heterogeneous resonator sub-elements exhibiting mutually distinct sensitivity profiles with respect to a plurality of physical degradation modes. A radio frequency interrogator (130) transmits a wideband sweep signal (302) toward the sensor array assembly (120) and receives a composite backscatter signal (304). A processing resource (150) derives a composite frequency-shift vector (340) from the composite backscatter signal (304), applies a regularized inversion (360) using a pre-calibrated sensitivity matrix (350) to yield a decoupled state vector (370) containing isolated metrics for each physical degradation mode, and generates a per-mode severity output (160) based on the decoupled state vector (370).
