MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110055 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for Passive Mechanical Event Recording Platform With Cell Free Genetic Circuit And Molecular Memory.
Inventors include Chandra Mouliswaran S; Mohammed Kaif K; and Pravin G.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT PASSIVE MECHANICAL EVENT RECORDING PLATFORM WITH CELL-FREE GENETIC CIRCUIT AND MOLECULAR MEMORY A passive mechanical event recording platform (100) includes a mechanical threshold translation module (110) configured to remain inactive below a predetermined activation threshold and to transition to an activated state when an applied mechanical stimulus exceeds the threshold. A sealed molecular trigger reservoir (120) coupled to the module (110) contains a molecular trigger species and releases the molecular trigger species upon activation. A stabilized cell-free transcription-translation matrix (130) positioned adjacent to the reservoir (120) receives the released molecular trigger species and contains a synthetic genetic circuit (140) activated by the trigger species. A molecular memory element (150) of the circuit (140) establishes a persistent activated state maintained after cessation of the mechanical stimulus. A reporter system (160) expressed under control of the circuit (140) generates a visible output indicative of a recorded mechanical event.(Fig. 1)
