MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621041648 A) filed by Naik Green Energy Private Limited on April 01, 2026, for Passive Hybrid Helical Savonius-Darrieus Vertical Axis Wind Turbine With Integrated Arm End Plates And Inner Curved Leakage Shields.
Inventor includes Naik, Sandeep Kashinath.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The invention discloses a compact hybrid vertical-axis wind turbine comprising two helical Darrieus blades and two helical Savonius blades with 360° twist. The Darrieus arms are widened in the Savonius zone to serve as integrated end plates, eliminating separate components. Thin curved arc sheets attached to the inner edges of Savonius blades eliminate air leakage. The design achieves high starting torque, smooth operation with zero vibration, and high efficiency in low-to-moderate winds, making it ideal for balcony and rooftop installation
