MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101524 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Passive Biomechanical Sock With Adaptive Compression And Pressure Redistribution.
Inventor includes Deven.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a passive adaptive biomechanical sock comprising a single integrated multi-zone textile architecture configured to enhance gait, posture, comfort, hygiene, safety, and thermal regulation without the use of electronics, sensors, batteries, or external power sources. The sock comprises pressure-responsive knit zones for plantar load redistribution, adaptive compression structures for dynamic muscle support, phase-change fibers for thermal regulation, directional anti-slip grip zones for improved traction, and toe-separation structures for enhanced foot alignment. The sock further comprises mechanically actuated ventilation channels for moisture management, odor-neutralizing regenerative fibers, wash-cycle indicator threads for lifecycle monitoring, a concealed pressure-locked storage pocket, and expandable knit zones for growth accommodation and elderly support. All functional features operate passively through engineered textile structures, knit geometry, and material properties, thereby providing an integrated textile system for biomechanical support, pressure redistribution, thermal comfort, hygiene management, and user safety within a single multifunctional garment.
