Abstract: ABSTRACT PARALLEL PROCESSING OF RADIO LINK CONTROL PROTOCOL DATA UNITS A method is provided that includes receiving radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs) from a lower layer of a radio protocol stack. The RLC PDUs are received on data paths associated with respective sequence number (SN) spaces, and the RLC PDUs received on each data path include a data path identifier that identifies the data path, and SNs from a SN space that is associated with the data path. The method includes detecting at least one missing RLC PDU by data path based on the data path identifier that identifies the data path and the SNs from the SN space that is associated with the data path, and reporting the at least one missing RLC PDU. And the method includes reassembling RLC service data units (SDUs) from the RLC PDUs, and submitting the RLC SDUs to an upper layer of the radio protocol stack.
