Abstract: ABSTRACT PARALLEL PROCESSING OF RADIO LINK CONTROL PROTOCOL DATA UNITS A method is provided that includes receiving radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs) from a lower layer of a radio protocol stack. The RLC PDUs are received on data paths associated with respective sequence number (SN) spaces. At least some of the RLC PDUs received on a data path include RLC service data unit (SDU) segments, a data path identifier that identifies the data path, and SNs from a SN space associated with the data path. At least one missing RLC PDU for at least one RLC SDU segment is detected per data path based on the data path identifier and the SNs from the SN space. And the method includes reassembling the RLC SDU segments from the RLC PDUs into RLC SDUs by data path based on the data path identifier that identifies the data path, and submitting the RLC SDUs to an upper layer of the radio protocol stack.
