Abstract: ABSTRACT: A dual-orientation mouth minor is disclosed comprising a handle and a mirror head bearing a reflective surface of oval configuration, the minor head being mounted upon the handle through a sliding slot fitted with a snap-lock mechanism at each of two ends of travel. The snap-lock mechanism permits the minor head to be released, slid, and relocked in either a vertical orientation, wherein the long axis of the oval is aligned with the handle, or a horizontal orientation, wherein the long axis lies perpendicular to the handle, while the angulation between the handle and the mirror head remains constant in both positions. The oval configuration affords a wider field of view than a conventional circular minor of comparable dimension, and the horizontal orientation permits visualization of the lingual surfaces of the entire anterior segment in a single placement, without repeated repositioning of the instrument._
