Abstract: ABSTRACT PAGING EARLY INDICATION A first apparatus in a mobile communications system comprising: at least one processor; and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: receive, from a second apparatus, a Paging Early Indication (PEI) configuration, wherein the PEI configuration comprises a number (po-NumPerPEI) of paging occasions (PO) to be associated with one PEI; receive, from the second apparatus, a downlink control information (DCI) comprising a PEI message, wherein the PEI message comprises a first indication of whether a paging occasion is to be monitored by the first apparatus; receive, from the second apparatus, a second indication comprising one or more of: information of whether a first at least one bit should be determined based on a first starting bit position or a shifted starting bit position; or information of a shifted starting bit position for the first at least one bit; wherein the first at least one bit comprises the first indication; determine the first at least one bit based on the second indication; and determine whether to monitor a paging occasion based, at least in part, on the first indication.
